Travelling Treasure Chest

The travelling chest has made it through my letterbox yesterday! It has been to quite a few places already.

June from Butterfly Wings in UK kindly passed it on to me... with a little extra surprise! A sweet little owl card and some lovely ribbon. Thank you sweetie :)

There was a multitude of charts to choose from and here is what I've gone for:

Snowy Deer from CCN (Frosty Forest collection)

We're Not Gossiping from LK

Housework Never Killed Anyone from LK

So a big thank you to whoever placed these in the chest :) I took 3 little charts and replaced them with 6 new ones!! I hope they will find a new home soon.
The chest will now be travelling all the way to Australia to Lisa from Lisa V's Lounge
It was fun taking part in this game, many many thanks to Kim for organizing this.

JEC SAL anyone?

I just bought the latest issue of TWOCS and found the little 2015 desk calendar free gift.
Oooh, these Joan Elliott designs are so cute! Impossible to resist! I have decided to stitch one a month over the coming new year
Now, because I'm worried I might just give up on the idea, I am looking for volunteers to keep me on tracks! Yes, like a JEC SAL (Joan Elliott Calendar) So? Who is with me?? All you need is the latest issue of TWOCS!! This is a fun SAL, there is absolutely nothing to win, just the joy of stitching 12 small adorable designs. All you have to do is post your monthly finish and try to stitch the 12 patterns PS: Vickie, have you seen the Cupid Poodle for February??? So sweet!!! Let me know if you want to join me!

Edit: If no one is interested, it's fine! I'll just stitch the few months I really like best ☺ Toodles, Mii

Close to You - Maia (Update 2)

As I still don't seem to be able to make my mind on which project to work on, I've decided to work on Mummy Mii's project.

Do you remember this?? - I thought I'd show you what it will look like once finished! -

And this is how it looks now...

I've also been stitching away on a small seasonal free chart too.
It's nearly finished, so I'll share my model once it is all made up

My DMC threads have arrived this week too :)
The ones I've ordered from Cross Stitch Heaven at only 39p each!!!

I'm really impressed with these.
I only want to collect the main "solid" colours and I'm so close to have them all.
I probably have around 50 missing, which I'll order soon

Here they all are in my 2 big pink boxes :)

The ones on the right in this box are actually do…

Have a lovely weekend, Toodles Mii

So not HaPpY...

Apologies in advance, it is not like me to complain on my little blog really but I'm shocked & fed up * * * As some of you know, I am trying (very slowly) to build up my stock of DMC threads. Basically, I go through the official list and buy the numbers I haven't got so that I have the whole collection! Stitcher will know exactly what I'm on about, so I'm not going to worry if this is insane or mad :D * * * So yesterday I visited my LNS (Hobby Craft, for the UK reader). It is not the best shop for cross stitching as they only sell kits but for ribbon, buttons & threads, you can find the basics. So, I had my list and bought 16 skeins of DMC I didn't have. I was quite happy & in a sad way, quite looking forward to some "bobbinating" (yep, it comes with the territory when you are a stitcher!) until I arrived at home & checked the receipt... What?? £0.90 per skein?? It used to be £0.80 a few weeks ago!! I always found it expensive, but really…

Here Comes Santa Claus! - Lizzie Kate

These past few days I have been stitching away on a Christmassy design.
Just to start getting in the mood...

It is an "oldish" design from Lizzie Kate called Here Comes Santa Claus!
* * *  Cross stitched on 14 ct dark rustico aida fabric, using charted DMC threads.

For once I dared swapped a colour! White Wisper from Rainbow Gallery went out and
plain DMC blanc was in!!
Fur/hair effect or not,
I think it's silly to pay over £3 for a skein of floss!!!

I have used the provided white & green buttons for Santa's coat.  * * * My model was finished off as a small pincushion
using the same fabric for the back
and the addition of red & sunrise coloured pearls for the edge.

Don't forget about my Lizzie Kate Giveaway With A Twist, there is still time to enter if you're not afraid of commitment! Toodles, Mii

Fault to stitch the monthly stamp, I will stop sending the following months.

* * *

It's promising to be fun!

Halloween Ornament Exchange

I can't believe nearly 2 weeks have passed since my last post! What has happened?? A few of you will know about the
Halloween Ornament Exchange organised by Kim Of course, I couldn't resist the temptation and joined the fun!
Now, both my swap partners have already blogged about this exchange,

Once is not always!

For the Halloween occasion, I swapped the white for DMC light effect E940... so that my little ghost will GloW in the dark... ooh spooky!!
